The Birthday Song 2.0

The point is, there was no good birthday song that I’d play at my friend’s birthday party. It’s always that same boring ‘Happy Birthday to you…’ Or from Hindi films it is that one old song (that our Sachin actually sings on EVERYONE’s birthday) – ‘Baar baar din ye aaye….’

When I first suggested let’s make a ‘Happy Budday’ song for ABCD 2, Sachin-Jigar were like ‘Nooo! It’s not a new concept, Mayurbhai!’ I said, ‘Well, everyone celebrates their birthday every year. We don’t do it one year and say – Hey, I’ve done this before, I’m not gonna do it again this year!’

So I told Sachin, ‘Bro! It’s high time we retired all these old birthday songs!’

So here it is. The new, cool BirthdaySong2.0 – ‘Happy Birthday’ from ABCD 2!

It’s not just a song about birthdays, but it’s also about modern relationships. It includes, friends, lovers, exes, and ex’s current lovers … Isn’t that how we celebrate birthdays now?

Varun Dhawan came in to RAP after the song was ready and absolutely made a blast of it.
